Adam set the bar very high this year as he is an amazing vocal talent and knows how to use his voice to the max. There was more variety in the singers instead of the standard "screamers". I also love the fact that the singers were allowed to play instruments which added more depth to their performances. Previous Idol years rewarded singers for singing loud, louder, loudest, Although I do believe Carrie Underwood was the best Idol singers, singer without screaming. I love to hear a powerful voice but I like it mixed with passion, emotion and vocal skill. But that's just me! I agree.
